Group Fitness Class Description 

ADVANCED YOGA: Challenge your yoga practice with our advanced yoga class! No prior experience necessary. Although advanced movements will be performed, this class can be adapted to fit all yoga levels.

BOOTCAMP: Geared toward the athlete and fitness enthusiast, Bootcamp leads participants through a rigorous circuit of power moves, and strengthening exercises aimed at increasing participants’ level of fitness. Those looking to challenge themselves will not be disappointed.

CARDIO DANCE: If you love to dance, this class if for you! Set to popular music, this fast-paced workout is a fun and easy-to-follow way to strengthen your heart and burn some calories. No dance experience necessary.

CYCLING: This 60-minute cycling class will help increase your cardiovascular endurance as it leads you to pedal your way through a variety of resistance hills, climbs, and intervals.

DANCE & FLEX: This 60 minute cardio dance and weight training class is deigned to get your heart rate up with dance and cardio intervals followed by various workouts involving equipment made to tone your body. This workout has all the fun that cardio dance brings but adds a component of strength training to the workout!

HARDCORE: An intense workout for the entire torso, this 25 minute class focuses on toning and strengthening the body’s core abdominal and back muscles.

HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING (HIIT): This class is based on the Tabata training principles designed to blast calories! Each workout is divided into intensive 4-minute segments, each designed to torch a maximum amount of calories.

HIP HOP: A combination of popular hip-hop techniques and booty shakin’ dance moves.

INSANITY: This 30 or 50 minute workout is designed to push you physically and mentally. Based off of the INSANITY home workout system developed by Shaun T, this class will provide the same max interval training style using bodyweight movements. Get ready to Dig Deeper with INSANITY!

KICKBOXING: A new twist on an old favorite, this class aims to strengthen the heart, mind and body through the foundational techniques of kickboxing. This energized workout is guaranteed to make you sweat.

PEDAL & PUMP: If basic cycling is no longer a challenge, add some strength circuits! This workout has all the fun of a regular cycling class, but adds more strength training to the mix!

PILATES: Increase flexibility, body awareness, core strength, and lean muscle during this great workout. Pilates is a refreshing mind-body exercise that focuses on breathing, strength, and flexibility.

PILOXING: An exciting fitness program that blends the best of boxing, standing pilates, and dance into a high-energy workout that incorporates interval and barefoot training to increase stamina and build lean muscles. This 60 minute workout will make you feel physically and mentally empowered.

PIYO: PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. And, we crank up the speed to deliver a true fat-burning, low-impact workout that leaves your body looking long, lean, and incredibly defined.

SPIN & STRETCH: Combines the cardio and strength of a cycling class with important stretches for recovery. A 40 minute intense sweat sesh followed by a 20 minute stretch will leave you feeling strong, energized and ready to take on the day!


This one hour strength-based class incorporates a variety of exercises and equipment to “tighten & tone” your entire body. Take one hour to sculpt your body at an intensity that will simultaneously improve your cardiovascular strength and endurance. All fitness levels are welcome!

TURBOKICK: TurboKick will maximize your workout with abs-sculpting movement and fat-burning cardio training. This unique fusion of kickboxing and hip hop dance is perfectly choreographed to strengthen your core and build your endurance.

W.O.W HOUR: This class is all about the Women Of the World! At Ohio University, we strive to include all traditions, races, and religions. W.O.W. Hour is a women’s only class that is meant to offer equal opportunity to women of all backgrounds, religions, and races. The format will change weekly, so come check out what we have in store for you!

YOGA/YOGA ON THE PATIO: Designed to calm the spirit, focus on the mind, and challenge the body. This class addresses strength and flexibility through a range of yoga poses. All levels welcome.

YOGA RELAX: Relieve bodily and mental tension using gentle stretching techniques, balancing postures and deep breathing, in order to give you a heightened sense of well-being and peace.

YOGA STRETCH: This relaxing hour long yoga class will focus on increasing flexibility through yoga poses and breathing.

ZUMBA: This workout takes movement elements found in traditional Latin dances, and incorporates them into a combination of interval and resistance training. Fun, easy-to-follow dance steps, and high-energy Latin music provide the framework for this feel-good, body sculpting cardio workout.
