Well-Being & Fitness Assistant

Position Description: 

Well-Being & Fitness Assistants (FA's) at Campus Recreation ensure the safety, cleanliness, inclusiveness, and exercise efficacy of all fitness areas through the education of proper fitness equipment use and enforcement of all Campus Recreation Policies. Well-Being & Fitness Assistants are also responsible for leading any Fitness Equipment Orientations or Ping Center Tours that are scheduled at the Ping Recreation Center. 

Certification Required: 

  • CPR/First Aid 

F45 Coach

Position Description: 

F45 Coaches at Campus Recreation are in charge of leading at least one F45 class per week. They create a safe and enjoyable fitness experience by giving clear explanations of the exercises, providing different options for each exercise, coaching through exercises, providing positive feedback, and maintaining a high-energy environment, which also includes appropriate music selection and control. A Personal Training or Group Fitness Certification is not required for this position, and it is a great opportunity for someone looking to get some experience in a fitness coaching environment. Participants for these classes range from students, faculty/staff, and community members who have an F45 Membership. 

Certification Required: 

  • CPR/First Aid

Personal Trainer

Position Description: 

Personal Trainers at Campus Recreation guide clients ranging from students to university faculty/staff to Community members through workouts and create individualized fitness plans for these clients to achieve their health and well-being goals. 

Certification Required: 

  • CPR/First Aid
  • Nationally Recognized Personal Training Certification (ACE, NSCA, NASM, or ACSM)

Group Fitness Instructor

Position Description: 

Group Fitness Instructors at Campus Recreation are in charge of leading at least one Group Fitness class per week. They create a safe and enjoyable fitness experience by giving clear explanations of the exercises, prvovide different options for each exercise, coaching through exercises, providing positive feedback, and maintain a high-energy environment. In addition to this, the Instructors are responsible for creating the content for their classes, as it is not pre-programmed. Participants for these classes range from students, faculty/staff, and community members. Classes for Group Fitness include Cardio Dance, Cycle, and Yoga. 

Certification Required: 

  • CPR/First Aid
  • Nationally Recognized Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM) OR a specialized group fitness certification (Examples: Spinning, Zumba, YogaFit, etc.) 

ACE Prep Course 

This 9-week series will prepare attendees to take either the Group Fitness or Personal Training Certification through the American Council on Exercise. Participation in the ACE Prep Program also includes a discount for exam corresponding to the course you sign up for.
