Campus Recreation focuses on student development by providing valuable training and experiences you can use after graduation and throughout your life. We work to ensure you develop skills in communication, leadership, time management and responsibility.
Our purpose at Ohio University is to provide safe and enjoyable learning and recreation opportunities. We promote these goals through the following facilities and programs: Aquatic Center, Bird Ice Area, Golf & Tennis Center, Driving Range, Outdoor Pursuits, Ping Center, Club Sport, Intramural Sports and Fitness.
Campus Recreation's facilities are student operated and employ over 500 undergraduate students in a variety of functions, making it one of the largest on-campus employers. Campus Recreation utilizes a tiered system of responsibility, which includes assistants, supervisors, managers and specialists. The staff also includes 13 graduate assistant positions that assist in the management of the facilities and programs.

Summer Camp Counselor
The Camp Counselor assists in programming in an active summer day camp environment. Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with early drop off starting at 8:00 a.m. and late pick up until 5:00 p.m. Camp runs from June 4th to August 17th. Please look here for more information and how to apply.

Business Operations Graduate Assistant:
The Campus Recreation Business Operations Graduate Assistant is primarily a project-based experience with a focus on financial analysis, process evaluation and improvement, and concession/resale operations. This position collaborates with facility staff on purchasing, receiving, pricing and security of resale and concessions items in four Campus Recreation facilities. This position is vital to the business operations of Campus Recreation.

Compeititve Sports Graduate Assistant (2 Positions Available)
The Graduate Assistant of Competitive Sports works to provide leadership, strategic planning, administration and day-to-day operations of the Intramural and Club Sports programs. Primary areas of responsibility will be to supervise 150 Intramural Sports and Club Sports student personnel, advise club sport officers and Club Sports Executive Council while assisting in the planning of clubs and program budget. In addition, the Graduate Assistant of Competitive Sports is expected to promote and facilitate effective communication and collaboration across all efforts of the department, university and community partners.

Outdoor Pursuits, Challenge Program and Climbing Wall Graduate Assistant:
The Outdoor Pursuits Graduate Assistant is involved in all aspects of the challenge course program, climbing wall with a strong emphasis on facilitator training, program development, and facility maintenance. Facility Opeartions Graduate Assistant
The Campus Recreation Graduate Assistant of Facility Operations is a critical member of the Campus Recreation Facilities and Operations team. This position works closely with the Assistant Director and Coordinator of Facility Operations, student facility staff, maintenance staff, and fitness staff to ensure efficient and proper use of the Charles J. Ping Center, the Golf & Tennis Center, Walter Fieldhouse, and Bird Ice Arena. OHIO Campus Recreation Facility Operations Graduate Assistants receive a comprehensive facility management experience that promotes research and application of new trends in Campus Recreation operations, encourages implementation of efficient processes and procedures, and develops strong leadership skills.

Health & Wellness Graduate Assistant
This position is responsible for assisting in the development and coordination of Health & Wellness programs, services, and events; and assessing their role in achieving student outcomes (focused on student fitness levels, mental health, and overall well-being). In addition to these responsibilities, this position will be in charge of creating student employee wellness assessments and programming, and creating student development opportunities that enhance the overall well-being and cohesion of Campus Recreation Staff.
