November 15, 2016 : Ohio University Proctorville Center hosts 24th Annual Bobcat Bash
The sunny and the unseasonably warm weather marked the 24th Annual Bobcat Bash at the Ohio University Proctorville Center on Saturday, Oct. 29.  Nearly 240 students, alumni, staff, donors and their families participated in this volleyball tournament and picnic, which has become a long-standing campus tradition.

In addition to the good food, camaraderie and family-friendly entertainment, the Bobcat Bash brought out the competition this year with a total of nine teams vying for the top spot. In the end, “We Hit From the Back Row” took first place. Team members included Trace Adkins, Ethan Chapman, Tiffani Christian, Brett Curry, Chad Fisher, Adam Snyder, Caitlin Stone and Rob Thompson.

Brett Curry, student and team captain said, “Winning the bobcat bash was a blast. My team and I had a good time competing against great teams and fighting our way to the championship after losing our first game to last years' defending champs. We are excited for next year so we can defend our title.”

Student Services Specialist at the Proctorville Center Corbin Purdum said that the Bobcat Bash is a team effort. “One of the things that makes the Bobcat Bash a success is the volunteers that come out excited and ready to help with the event,” he said. “It is great to see students and faculty take pride in being a part of this rich tradition, that I am told gets better each year.”
