Prospective Brand Partners to Present to Selection Committee Beginning Dec. 5

In October, as part of the initiative to Elevate Marketing and Branding, Ohio University released a request for proposals for an agency partner to assist in the development of clear, unified brand messaging and creative support its implementation.

After receiving more than 30 qualified responses and hearing from eight agencies via virtual presentations, three top firms will be on campus for presentations beginning today, December 5, with the final presentation set for December 11.

The introductory portion of on-campus presentations will be recorded and posted here on the News and Updates page along with a survey for anyone on campus interested in weighing in on the best vendor for the job. Look for the survey to open Thursday, Dec. 12 and be open for one week.

The scope of work in the RFP included four parts: brand message development, brand identity refresh, creative production support, and advancement campaign messaging. It’s important to note that at this time OHIO is only committed to moving forward with Part One of the scope. Other parts of the scope will go through a budget impact assessment before action is taken.

Co-Chairs for the initiative, Vice President for University Communications and Marketing Robin Oliver, College of Business Dean Hugh Sherman, and Athletic Director Julie Cromer, along with Vice President for Advancement Nico Karagosian and Interim Vice Provost for Enrollment Management Candace Boeninger, are serving as the selection committee. Communications Directors for all colleges as well as University Advancement, Student Affairs, Admissions and Athletics, have been invited to participate in the on-campus review.

The selection committee hopes to have an agency in place to begin work in early January.
