Enrollment Management, UCM, Colleges Partner on Yield Strategies

As we work forward on the initiative to Catalyze Strategic Enrollment Strategy for Lifelong Learning, there has been significant work this spring on strategies to improve yield (the percentage of accepted students who select to attend OHIO). These efforts include:

  • Scholarships: Expanded scholarships into new academic quality bands, added new out-of-state scholarship awards, and increased marketing and transparency related to scholarships for the highest-performing students.
  • Accepted Student Communications: Significantly redesigned the acceptance package, adding a social media component, and expanded the mailed communications plan to include messages on affordability, student success, and a custom message from the student’s college of choice.
  • Offer timing: Made adjustments to processes to get offers out faster. Speed-to-offer is known to have a positive impact on yield outcomes.
  • Improving the visit experience: Retrained staff and tour guides and revamped the tour route to showcase OHIO's best features. Incorporating special academic info sessions into the spring visit calendar.
