Ohio University has a responsibility to all persons to protect them from food and beverages which may have been prepared under conditions which do not meet the appropriate standards of health and sanitation. Ohio University Dining Services has the responsibility to uphold the quality standards for events associated with Ohio University.
All catering requests on the Ohio University campus must be scheduled through the Catering Office in Room 208, Baker Center.
Individuals and/or organizations may refer to policies 23-001 and 24-004 for additional information on scheduling catered events on the Ohio University campus.
Any and all alcoholic beverages served, sold, or consumed on campus must be approved by the Baker Center Office in Room 201, Baker Center. All necessary license and permits must be applied for and approved before alcoholic beverages will be allowed. All alcohol on campus must be served by Ohio University Dining Services.
The only exception made to the above policy will be made on appeal to the Director of Housing and Food Services. Exceptions may be granted only in extreme situations such as to support a specific cultural/religious/ethic program. In no case will an exception be granted if a real danger exists in regard to health, sanitation, or good business practices. In no case will an exception be granted if previous exceptions have resulted in abuse of the spirit of this policy.
If an exception is granted, a completed "PERMIT TO SELL/SERVE FOOD ON CAMPUS" shall be filed and approved by the Director of Environmental Health and Safety in accordance with policy 23.002 Environmental Health and Safety will inform the individual/organization of any other required permits or safety requirements.
