ABOUT UNIVERSITY GIS
University Planning is charged with capturing a variety of campus facility and infratructure data, while providing geographically referenced information to University staff and the public. The University Geographic Information System (GIS) is our tool for collecting, managing, analysing, and displaying many types of information for the benefit of the University.
GIS allows the University to view, question, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends. It also helps answer questions and solve problems by visualizing data in a way that can be quickly absorbed and shared with our customers.
UP has a variety of GIS related roles, including the creation and management of an Enterprise GIS system, the production of campus maps, and the analysis of GIS data.
