Moms Weekend

March 31—April 2, 2017 

Historically, one of the most popular weekends of the year is Moms Weekend. All Ohio University moms are invited to join us in Athens for a very special time.

Ohio University is committed to ensuring its programs, services, and activities are accessible to students, faculty, staff and the general public with disabilities, who visit or attend a campus-sponsored event. Ohio Hockey Skills Competition

6:30pm, Bird Arena 

The 2015-16 Ohio Hockey Team will be displaying their talents with a skills competition including fastest skater, hardest shot, breakaway competition, puckhandling relay, and a 3 on 3 mini tournament. All proceeds will be donated to Kokua TRY-Sport, a 100% non-profit organization that provides underprivileged youth the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports over a two week period. This organization is branching out into Athens, OH for the first time this year!

Tickets are $5 per person, paid at the door.

Mom’s Weekend Comedy Show, presented by Blue Pencil Comedy

8:00pm- 9:30pm, Bobcat Student Lounge, Baker University Center 

A Stand-Up Comedy show geared towards students and their moms.

Mom’s Weekend Open Mic Night, presented by Tau Beta Sigma

8:00PM, Donkey Coffee (17 ½ West Washington Street) 

Enjoy a nice cup of coffee and a relaxing night of music with your mom! All proceeds go to Tau Beta Sigma, national honorary service sorority, and to support the Ohio University School of Music. 

Admission is $3, paid at door.

Chicago City Limits: NYC’s Legendary Improv Comedy Show

8:00pm, Templeton Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium 

Chicago City Limits is New York City's legendary Improv comedy show. Founded in Chicago in 1977 by actors participating in the Second City workshops, the group relocated to New York in 1980 and began an Off-Broadway run of over 8,500 performances. Through the years, the company has gotten rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, most recently receiving the 2008 Award for Best Comedy Group by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC). 

NOTE: This performance may contain content that is offensive and may be inappropriate for younger audience members.

Mom's Weekend Fashion Show

10:00am-2:00pm, The Ballroom, Baker University Center 

A fashion show hosted by Ohio University's Fashion Associates. Raffle starts at 12pm and Runway starts at 1pm. There will be free snacks and tons of awesome raffle prizes!

Mom's Weekend Expo

12 PM - 4 PM, Multicultural Center and 2nd Floor, Baker University Center 

The Mom’s Weekend Expo occurs during Ohio University’s Mom’s Weekend each year. It is an opportunity for BSCPB to give OU Mom’s the chance to bond with their children while enjoying an afternoon of relaxation full of crafts, food, massages, live music, and dancing. This is a busy weekend full of activities, and we hope all Mothers, students, and friends pass through on your way to other locations throughout campus!

Fangle Magazine welcomes Nick D' and The Believers - Free Show!

2:00pm – 5:00pm, The Front Room, Baker University Center 

Nick D' and The Believers are garnering national acclaim for infectiously positive, indie pop. Their music has been featured on popular TV shows like 'Pretty Little Liars.' Join Fangle Magazine for coffee and a variety of crafts to commemorate Mom's Weekend. Nick D' and The Believers will be playing an acoustic preview before continuing on to their show at Casa Nueva that evening.
