Transportation from Athens to Columbus is Available

OHIO Transportation and Parking Services offers shuttle service between Baker University Center and the Port Columbus International Airport. The cost is $35 for a University-scheduled trip and trips can cost as little as $11 for a large group trip (55 people or more). 

The service is open to all and payment is accepted via credit card or cash, or OHIO students can have the cost billed to your student account by entering your PID on the reservation form. Handicap-accessible vehicles are available. Visit the Transportation Services website or call the office at 740-593-1702 or 740-593-1611 for more information or to make a reservation. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please note, the office is closed on weekends and University holidays, so making reservations in advance is recommended.

GoBus offers two daily roundtrips between Athens and the Port Columbus International Airport (Go33 Route*) or the Greyhound bus station in Cincinnati (Go32 Route*) for $10 each leg. The buses run each route twice daily. Tickets may be purchased* online, over the phone  or at one of the designated ticketing locations,* including the Athens Community Center. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased from the bus driver, but exact change is necessary (the price with tax is $10.67). Read more about GoBus.

Lakefront Lines Inc., a Cleveland-based bus service, has a bus stopping at the Athens Community Center, 701 E. State St., daily, with buses going to and from Cleveland, Akron, Columbus, Lancaster, Logan and Nelsonville, Ohio. In Columbus, you can transfer to another Lakefront bus and travel to and from Lima and Van Wert, Ohio; Ft. Wayne, Angola, Lagrange, Elkhart, South Bend and Gary, Ind.; and Chicago, Ill. You can also connect with Greyhound for further destinations.

Buses travel everyday, including holidays. You can check the schedule online at www.lakefrontlines.com* under "Regular Route Service" (a new browser window will open when you follow this link). Tickets can be purchased at the community center or over the phone at 1-800-331-5009. Schedules are subject to change without notice so make sure you call or check the Web site before traveling.

Athens Airport Shuttle offers daily service to and from Athens and Port Columbus International Airport by reservation.

Athens Airport Express provides transportation service between Athens and Port Columbus International Airport.

Their hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 19 p.m. daily and they request 24 hours advance notice for riders. Call 740-590-GOTO (4686) or visit the Web site at www.athensairportexpress.com* for reservations and additional information.

Athens Bus provides nonstop travel to and from Cincinnati on European-style motorcoaches.

Their service runs during breaks, holidays and selected weekends during the school year, tailored specifically around the university's academic calendar. They offer pick-up and drop-off locations right on campus. Visit their Web site at www.AthensBus.com* for further information.
