Ohio University employee blood drive set for June 29
Your local Red Cross is currently experiencing critically low inventory levels of O-negative blood.
As of 8 a.m. this morning (June 25) there were only eight units of O-negative blood on the shelf. Last night, two trauma victims who required, O-negative blood were admitted to a local hospital. Although meeting the special needs of these patients is not the primary reason for current low inventories, the situation does serve to illustrate how important it is that the Red Cross be well-positioned on any given day to serve patients using extraordinary amounts of blood.
Donors of all blood types are encouraged to give the gift of life. But today, the Red Cross issues a special plea to O-negative donors. To donate at the Ohio University Employee Blood Drive, to be held at Baker Center on Tuesday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., please call 593-5273 to schedule an appointment. All donors will receive a free T-shirt. Together, we can save a life.
