Program gives public and nonprofit executives decision-making tools

ATHENS, Ohio (July 19, 2004) -- Ohio University's Executive Leadership Institute will present "Leading with Vision, Value and Strategy," a program for public and nonprofit sector executives, Oct. 5-8 in Athens, Ohio.

The program teaches participants how to be more effective leaders using the Strategic Triangle and Performance Measurement Model, which focuses on their organization's core values, external political environments and internal operational resources.

Lisa Patt-McDaniel, office chief with the Ohio Department of Development, uses the tools she gained through OUELI to manage her department more effectively.

"The concepts of the Strategic Triangle Model are an extremely important way to address policy and public programs," said Patt-McDaniel. "I m reviewing our current programs by asking, 'How are we adding value?' and by doing stakeholder analysis."

More than 600 public and nonprofit officials have attended the program and learned how to strengthen their role as public-sector leaders by strategically managing and measuring their organization's performance. For information and registration for this year's "Leading with Vision, Value and Strategy" workshop, contact Terry Murphy at (740) 593-9797 or Murphy@voinovichcenter.ohio.edu, or visit www.ohio.edu/executiveleadership.
