Voter registration forms available on campus

ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University students who want to vote in Athens County may pick up voter registration forms at numerous on-campus locations for the Nov. 7 general election.

First-time voters and individuals who have a name change or change of address are required to complete the forms. The forms are available at numerous campus locations including the Office of the Dean of Students in 202 Baker Center, the Registrar's Office in Chubb Hall, the Ping Center, Alden Library and The Front Room on the ground floor of Baker Center. Students may also pick up registration forms at any of the dining halls on campus. The forms must be postmarked by Oct. 6.

To qualify to vote, students must be a United States citizen, 18 years of age on or before the general election day, an Ohio resident for at least 30 days and registered to vote at least 30 days before the election. Once registration is accepted, the Athens County Board of Elections will inform voters of their designated voting location.

Students who have questions regarding the registration form, dates or deadlines should contact the Office of the Dean of Students at 593-1800. Students can also obtain information by calling the Athens County Board of Elections at 592-3201.
