From staff reports
Ohio University Compass, the redesigned online news source coming this spring, is a university resource that was designed with the community's needs and input in mind.
In a survey conducted in spring 2009, respondents listed their favorite and most-read types of stories. University Communications and Marketing (UCM) have already taken these opinions into account with Outlook, but can now see them fully realized with Ohio University Compass.
The stories that readers were most interested in included "people" profiles on achievements by faculty, staff, students and alumni; campus events and other things to do; updates on university policies and procedures; university initiatives; and staff news.
Of those surveyed, 80 percent of readers had suggested more slideshows and 58 percent had suggested more videos. UCM has strived to incorporate multimedia, like slideshows and videos, into Outlook coverage and will continue to do so in Ohio University Compass.
UCM has worked diligently to develop a user-friendly and easy to navigate home for Ohio University news, and Ohio University Compass is that and more.
