By Andie Walla and Bridget Coughlin
Editor's note: This is the second installment of a student-led series highlighting the resources Ohio University and the surrounding community offer to promote healthy lifestyles. This week, the spotlight is on WellWorks, the university's employee wellness program.
For OHIO faculty and staff and community members, WellWorks is a great way to live well here on campus. The university's employee wellness program offers a full workout and fitness facility in Grover Center. Members also can participate in a variety of fitness classes including yoga, kick boxing, pilates, nutrition education, and weight- and stress-reduction programs.
While WellWorks membership is reserved for faculty and staff, the program also provides employment opportunities to students studying recreation, fitness, nutrition or related fields. The facility gains student employees who are studying the latest research in fitness and the students have the opportunity to practice their classroom knowledge in real-life situations.
