Bobcat Blitz is Saturday

Ohio Athletics and the Center for Sports Administration are partnering to bring football fans a day of family fun by hosting the fifth annual Follett's University Bookstore Bobcat Blitz on Saturday.

The day kicks off in Peden Stadium with the Gridiron Gallop 5K Run/Walk, presented by Army ROTC. Registration, which is $15 pre-race day and $20 on race day, begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Participants are asked to collect pledges to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

A cornhole tournament, which costs $20 per team or $10 per person, takes place begins at 11 a.m. at Pepsi Tail-Great Park. Participants will be eligible to win cash prizes, restaurant gift cards, cornhole sets and more.

At 1:30 p.m. kids can take part in Rufus Run, presented by Dale's BP. Children will run from Pepsi TailGreat Park onto the football field and then up to Victory Hill inside Peden Stadium.

The event concludes with the annual Green and White Spring Football Game at 2 p.m. in Peden Stadium. An autograph session will follow the game.

The Bobcat football team is coming off a 9-5 season in 2009 and played in the MAC Championship Game and the Little Caesars Bowl in Detroit. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-575-CATS (2287) or 740-593-1300 and each person who reserves season tickets will receive a $40 value pack. Six- and three-month payment plans are available for season ticket purchasers.
