Ohio University's Classified Senate will host its annual service awards ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Nelson Commons.
The ceremony will recognize 219 Ohio University classified staff members who recently completed 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service at the university. President Roderick J. McDavis and Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit will speak during the invitation-only event.
Terry James and Robert Watkins are the only 40-year employees being honored this year. James works as a groundskeeper on the Lancaster Campus, while Watkins is an operating systems programmer in Information Technology on the Athens Campus. Both men have worked at the university since 1969.
The senate's Professional Development Committee organizes the event to publicly recognize classified staff members for their time and commitment.
