Forum set for executive director candidate

Nov 18, 2008

A fourth finalist for the position of executive director of University Communications and Marketing will participate in an open forum on the Athens campus later this week.

The candidate, John Damschroder, Columbus bureau chief for WJW-TV in Cleveland, will be on campus Friday, Nov. 21. He will share his experiences and views about communications and marketing issues and take questions at 1:15 p.m. Friday in Baker University Center Room 231.

Other finalists for the position, who interviewed on campus earlier this month, and links to their vitae in PDF format are:

  • Daniel Smith, director of corporate communications for PAETEC Holding Corp. in Dallas
  • Renea Morris, director of public relations for Convergys Corp. in Cincinnati
  • Christopher Hardwick, currently transitioning from the position of vice president, marketing and communications, Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass.

Chief Information Officer Brice Bible is heading the national search to fill the executive director position. Former Executive Director of Communications and Marketing Joe Brennan resigned in February to join the State University of New York at Buffalo, his alma mater, and Senior Director of Marketing Communications Gina Calcamuggio has served as interim executive director since that time.
