Jun 29, 2009

The Ohio University community is mourning the loss of a student who died early Sunday at a Columbus, Ohio, hospital. He was 18 and had just completed his freshman year.

Bryan Barbin, of Columbus, was a student in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology.

"We are deeply saddened by this loss," said Dean of Students Ryan Lombardi. "Our thoughts go out to Bryan's family and friends."

In a statement, Dennis Irwin, dean of the Russ College of Engineering and Technology, also expressed his sympathies.

"It is always tragic to lose a young person, and we are especially pained to have lost one of our own," Irwin said.
