ATHENS, Ohio (April 30, 2007) -- Deans David Descutner and Ann Fidler spoke about Ohio University's efforts to attract the nation's best and brightest students in an Ohio Public Radio story aired this morning.
The story noted Ohio's one-of-a-kind Honors Tutorial College and the one-on-one learning experience it offers students as well as focused efforts to attract international and out-of-state students.
"It's important to have some geographical diversity on the campus if you want to be a national university, as we clearly are," Descutner was quoted as saying.
Fidler spoke to universities' importance to the state's economy. "Universities really are economic engines," Fidler said in the segment. "If we want to keep the best in Ohio, we need to have this partnership between the state and the universities."
