Open forums are an opportunity for students and president
ATHENS, Ohio (April 4, 2007) -- Throughout spring quarter, President Roderick McDavis will visit different residence halls to answer questions and get feedback from Ohio University students.
"An Evening with the President," orchestrated by the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Department of Residence Life, will offer students the chance to have their voices heard in hour-long, open forum discussions.
"It's a great opportunity for students to get to know the president in an informal setting that is conducive to asking questions or airing concerns," said Mike Hess, assistant director for Residential Education in the Department of Residence Life. "Dr. McDavis is looking forward to meeting the students he hasn't met yet and talking to them about the things they are interested in."
The schedule is as follows: April 4 in the Bromley Hall lobby; April 25, in the James Hall main lobby; May 3, in the Read Hall main lobby; May 9, in the Washington Hall main lobby; May 16, in the Brown Hall main lobby; and May 22, in the Martzolff House seminar room.
All meetings are from 6 to 7 p.m.
"I hope students will use this opportunity to meet their president and help him more fully understand their experiences at Ohio University," Hess said.
