ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio (Oct. 11, 2005) -- Ohio University-Eastern will hold their second scheduled Band Bash at the Ney Center on Oct. 22, featuring the band River City High. River City High, who won the the MTV2 Mountain Dew Circuit Breakout Award for new artist in 2004, hails from Richmond, Va. There will also be many returning bands to this Halloween-themed event.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the music will start at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $5 until Oct. 12. Tickets at the door can be purchased for $8--or, $7 if you are dressed in a Halloween costume. Other bands playing at the Monster's Ball Band Bash include After Drama, I Dare You, Less Than Perfect, Signal Home, The Vacancy and Isadora.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Ohio Valley Chapter of the Red Cross and will benefit hurricane victims. Ohio University-Eastern held their first Band Bash in March of this year and successfully raised money to bring a game room to the students at the university. The Eastern Campus hopes this event will be able to provide some much-needed relief to the victims of Katrina.
As Eastern Campus Dean Paul E. Bibbins, Jr. stated, "I am very proud of our students to know they want to contribute to the relief fund to help the victims along the Gulf Coast who have been devastated by Hurricane Katrina."
Tickets can be purchased through Oct. 12 at the Ohio University-Eastern's receptionist desk, Sipper's Café in St. Clairsville, or at our community booth at the Ohio Valley Mall on Oct. 1 and 8. Refreshments will be available at the event, and the bands will sell merchandise such as CD's and T-shirts.
