ATHENS, Ohio (April 17, 2006) -- Ohio University Community and Professional Programs in cooperation with Robinson Aviation (RVA) is sponsoring a two-day intensive Airport Security Planning Course on Monday and Tuesday, May 8 and 9, in Baltimore, Md., and Monday and Tuesday, May 22 and 23, in Sacramento, Calif.
The course is designed for General Aviation Airport security personnel, tenants, operators, planners and managers, and meets all federal guidelines for General Aviation Airports. Participants will gain an understanding of airport security requirements, rules and regulations. They will learn to form an airport security plan (ASP) and how to conduct airport security audits. Day two of the course includes a visit to a regional GA airport to conduct an on-site security audit. Participants will receive a composite report of the audit findings. Additionally, those attending will learn to coordinate the ASP with the crisis/contingency plan and to prepare capital budgets for security.
Instructor John F. Mullins is a senior staff member with RVA, a firm experienced in national and international aviation security assessment and planning services. Mullins has 40 years experience in training design, development, delivery and management. He has provided Aviation Security training and expertise for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in its inspection program throughout Central and South America, the Caribbean, Africa and the Middle East. Mullins also has been a chief instructor for the Bomb Threat Management Course taught to all FAA Security Inspectors.
The cost for the two-day training is $495 per person and includes the seminar, extensive course materials, certificate of completion and continental breakfast and lunch. Pre-registration is required and seating is limited.
