ZANESVILLE, Ohio (May 27, 2005) -- Ohio University-Zanesville will present "Roadblocks to Learning: What Gets in the Way" a one-day event designed for individuals, educators or agencies working with children. This interactive workshop will be presented in collaboration with numerous agencies and professionals who work with children and behavioral/health issues every day. They will share information and strategies regarding concerns, fears, or abuse that children might experience in the home, significant health issues such as childhood obesity, adolescent diabetes and attention disorders, as well as behaviors related to depression, teen suicide and bullying.
Concurrent and plenary sessions will be presented by professionals in the behavior health field as well as educators, including the Ohio Teacher of the Year, Deepa Ganschenietz. Area agencies and information vendors will also be on hand to answer questions. One credit hour of undergraduate or graduate credit is available as well as a non-credit option.
"Roadblocks to Learning: What Gets in the Way" will take place on Friday, June 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Campus Center on the Ohio University-Zanesville campus.
