ATHENS, Ohio (Feb. 14, 2005) -- Professor of economics Richard Vedder will speak on "Going Broke by Degrees: Why College Costs Too Much" on Wednesday, Feb. 16. His talk will be held in the Friends of the Library Room (Alden 319) beginning at 3:30 p.m.

"We are delighted to have Professor Vedder speak to the friends," says Catherine Brown, program chair for the group. "He will provide a thought-provoking perspective on a thorny subject."

The program will be sponsored by the Friends of the Libraries of Ohio University. It is free and open to the public. Copies of Vedder's book will be available for sale at the program.
