The Wildlife Biology Club field trip went on a camping and
wildlife-viewing field trip to the Toledo, Ohio area.
Here's a very interesting photo taken by Phil Allman:
Fox Snake (Elaphe vulpina) and King Rail.
It was not completely clear what was happening here. The Fox Snake
was observed to be constricting another bird just before this
photo was taken. This King Rail was pecking at the Fox Snake in an
apparent effort to drive it away. Note also that the King Rail is
an Ohio Endangered Species, so seeing one at all is very rare.
