Synchronized skating is a quickly growing discipline of figure skating and is an internationally recognized sport.

It is a highly technical form of skating characterized by speed, accuracy, intricate formations and breathtaking transitions performed by teams of eight to 20 athletes. The Ohio University Synchronized Skating Team performs during the intermission at OU Hockey games and participates in various competitions around the area.
