About OU Amnesty International
Purpose
Based at Ohio University in Athens, we are the local branch of our parent organization
Amnesty International. We consist of student and community members concerned with human rights issues at home and around the world. Our goals include educating ourselves and others about human rights issues, as well as taking action to try to stop human rights violations.
Amnesty International is committed to helping all people achieve the basic human rights that have been agreed upon by the people of the world in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. AI is independent from any government, political ideology, religion and economic interest.
