Audience Navigation

The audience navigation is generally at the top of page (below the Ohio University Logo).  The purpose of the audience navigation is to target particular groups that may visit your web site.

  1. Navigate your browser to http://author.oit.ohio.edu/subsite_name/manage
  2. From the management page click on Audience Navigation on the left hand side.
  3. To edit an item already in the Audience Navigation, click on [Edit] located to the left of the item. This will allow you to edit the existing content for that item.  For information on the individual fields, see the steps below.
  4. To add a new item to the Audience Navigation, fill in the form at the bottom of the page.
    1. Link Text is the text that displays.
    2. Link URL is the location to send the visitor to after clicking on the Link Text.
    3. Order is the order in which to display the links (1 would be first, 2 second, etc).
    4. The check box, if checked, will cause external  links (links that do NOT end in ohio.edu) to open in a new window.
    5. Position should always be "Audience" for Audience Navigation.
    6. Double check everything to make sure it's right and click on Submit.
