Centrally managed web hosting that allows site owners and content contributors to edit and publish official, University-branded web pages without needing to know how to write website code.

New Web CMS

OIT is in the process of moving to a new Web CMS:

  • Simple content updates without the need to know how to code
  • Template-based designs provide consistent websites that adhere to OHIO brand standards
  • Ability to change images, upload documents, manage navigation and more
  • Access can be managed/delegated to allow one or more individuals to edit specific pages or content.

External cache

  • Stores a recent copy of your site's content in the cloud, reducing the likelihood that visitors will receive a 'not found' or 'unavailable' error should we experience a local outage.
  • Page edits can take up to 24 hours to appear to visitors.
  • Dynamic content like news feeds and forms with auto-populating fields may need to be removed from the cache to avoid displaying incorrect content. Contact the IT Service Desk to request a cache update.

  • Available for official university websites.
  • To be a content contributor, you must be affiliated with the university and receive training from OIT in the proper use of the Web CMS features you will have access to.
