VPN Access

If you're a university employee, OHIO's web-based VPN lets you:

  • Access your Home and Shared network storage folders from off-campus

  • Log into secure systems that normally would require you to be on the university network

How to use the web-based VPN:

  1. Make sure you have an active, broadband Internet connection.

  2. Open a web browser.

  3. Go to

  4. Log in with your OHIO ID and password.

  5. Use the links/menus on the resulting page to access your secure resources.

Printing from off-campus via VPN

If you need to print to an on-campus printer from an off-campus location (home office, conference center, hotel, etc.), please contact the OIT Service Desk to request "Remote Printing VPN Authorization." 

Remote Desktop access to on-campus PCs

If you need to use Remote Desktop to access an on-campus Windows PC from a non-university location, please contact the OIT Service Desk to request “Off-campus Remote Desktop Access.”
