Ohio University

Offsite Proctoring

Due to OHIO courses moving to remote and online delivery for the remainder of the Spring 2019-2020 semester, in-person proctoring locations on ALL Ohio University campuses have been closed. The Ohio University Testing Center services outlined on this page are unavailable until further notice. Check with the service locations identified as Pre-Approved Off-Campus Testing Centers for potential closings.

Proctored testing resources are available through Online Proctoring.

If you are unable to come to one of our OHIO campus locations for your proctored exam, you will need to arrange to take your exam at one of our pre-approved off-campus testing centers or under the supervision of someone who meets the qualifications to be a proctor.

If you need to take multiple exams, make sure to complete the steps below for EACH exam, even if you plan to use the same proctor.

  1. Contact your preferred proctor and schedule a date and time for your exam.
  2. At least 10 days before your scheduled date, submit an Off-Campus Proctor Request.

The 10 day notice is necessary to give us time to verify your chosen site/proctor and to deliver the exam to that proctor. If your exam is paper-based, it will be sent via US Mail. Paper exams cannot be faxed or emailed. After you complete your exam, the proctor will return it to Ohio University for grading.

Proctor sites may charge fees for their services. You are responsible for paying those fees. Fee information is included below for pre-approved locations. If you plan to use an alternate site, ask if they charge a fee before you schedule your appointment.

Contact testingservices@ohio.edu or 740-593-1040 for additional assistance.

You will need to complete the proctor form if testing with a college other than Ohio University. If scheduling with an Ohio University campus, you only need to contact that campus to schedule your appointment. All testing materials will be forwarded prior to exam date to each regional campus. In order to maintain the highest degree of integrity for Ohio University, we reserve the right to decline any person whom we feel could be a potential conflict of interest as a proctor.
