Microphones

Microphones are located in the classroom so that you can amplify your voice or be heard in applications through the computer (e.g. for Teams meetings, Panopto recordings, etc.), depending on the size of the room.

How to Access

Large (99+) Classrooms

  • Log in to the computer in the classroom.
  • Press the on/off button for 3-4 seconds until the green light is steady on the lavalier or stick microphone.
  • Volume can controlled by clicking on the speaker icon on the lower right corner of computer screen.

Medium (25-98) and Small (1-24) Classrooms

  • Log in to the computer in the classroom.
  • The extended microphone located on the lectern will automatically be powered on and ready to use in applications through the computer (e.g. for Teams meetings, Panopto recordings, etc.). The microphone will not amplify the user's voice through the in-room speakers. Please contact OIT if you need in-room audio amplification solution for teaching. 
  • Volume can be controlled by using the volume knob located on the left side of the lectern.

Features

  • Large classrooms: Allows you to be heard in the classroom and in applications through the computer (e.g. for Teams meetings, Panopto recordings, etc.)
  • Medium and small classrooms: Allows you to be heard in applications through the computer (e.g. for Teams meetings, Panopto recordings, etc.)
