Frequently Asked Questions: OneDrive

How much storage comes with OneDrive?

Individual OneDrive accounts associated with a personal ohio.edu email address are given 1 terabyte (1,000 gigabytes) of cloud storage.

Shared OneDrive accounts associated with a Microsoft Group start at 1 terabyte and can be expanded to 5 terabytes by request.

What can I do about slow uploads?

Files will take longer to upload to OneDrive the larger they are. When working with large files, use a high bandwidth connection like the Ohio University network whenever practical.

If you experience slow OneDrive uploads while on campus, please contact the OIT Service Desk.

Is there a file size limit?

OneDrive currently supports individual files up to 15 GB.

Can I share a file but not allow the recipient to edit that file? (Read only?)

When you share a file, you can choose whether the recipient is allowed to edit the file or only view it.
