Portfolio Management Office

 

The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) oversees the slate of IT projects for Ohio University. The department coordinates five major project-related areas in OIT:

  • Portfolio Management: project and resource tracking and reporting
  • Demand Management: project intake and governance review
  • Project Management Support: training, tools, and templates to support project management methodology; management of select projects
  • Business Process Analysis: as-needed review of current business processes for redesign
  • Requirements gathering: as-needed gathering of preliminary functional or technical requirements.

The PMO facilitates intake of project requests, reviews the request, meets with appropriate OIT staff to determine technical feasibility and approach, works with customer and OIT for estimate of effort, and presents the request to OIT governance for review and prioritization.
