Employees urged to set secret questions for their OHIO password

In the coming months, employees will need to have secret questions associated with their OHIO password when accessing core academic and administrative systems. The first services to include this requirement will be Oracle e-Business and My Personal Information. The secret question requirement will go into effect for those services on August 7, 2014.

The OIT Service Desk has begun sending e-Business users a series of email reminders asking them to change their password and choose their questions. All employees without secret questions will begin receiving similar reminders in August.

If you regularly access e-Business, OIT recommends setting your questions before the R-12 upgrade begins on July 27.  

Do keep in mind that OIT’s reminder emails will NOT include any clickable links. Instead they will describe how to find the activation page from the OHIO Front Door. If you receive an activation reminder that includes a link, it’s a phishing scam and should be deleted. Questions? Call the OIT Security Office at 740-566-7233 or email security@ohio.edu.
