OHIO's core financial online systems are back in business, three days sooner than expected.
According to university controller Julie Allison, the Oracle R12 cutover process originally had been scheduled to last through the morning of August 7, but the work was completed and access to all related systems was restored on the afternoon of August 4.
"We appreciated your patience during the downtime," Allison said in an email to the university financial community. "While the timing for such an activity is never ideal, it was vitally important that the systems be upgraded to maintain the support agreements for our systems."
The documentation for FMS View Only menu options has been updated to reflect R12 changes. The documentation is posted at: http://www.ohio.edu/finance/customercare/fmsonlinetraining.cfm and includes separate documents for each menu option along with an overview document that covers Oracle Navigation. Some of the screens, primarily related to accounts payable, have changed with the upgrade. The documentation can be useful in understanding how the information is now shown.
As a reminder, the RELAX report system is no longer available. This information is now available through OBIEE reports. If you need to request access to OBIEE, please submit a Footprints ticket: https://support.oit.ohio.edu/MRcgi/MRentrancePage.pl or contact the OIT Service Desk (740.593.1222).
The July FMS reports are now available with the following exceptions: M900 Detail Ledger Activity, Natural Accounts By Cost Center (Raw Data), Detail Ledger Activity (Raw Data), and Payroll Expense Distribution Detail (Raw Data). We are currently working to make these remaining options available.
To access the systems, you may use the existing website links to the systems. Please note that URLs have changed, and previously stored bookmarks may no longer work.
When you initially log in to eBiz, your list of responsibilities may be reflected as “Undefined.” This is a one-time setup issue that is easily corrected. In your browser window, go to Tools on the menu bar and select “Compatibility View.”
Your list of responsibilities should now be displayed correctly.
If you are having trouble logging in, did you remember to establish your secret questions for your password? OIT has implemented Single Sign On which impacts many applications. This allows you to enter your credentials (OHIO ID and password) once during a login session, rather than each time you access a system. See the following article for more info: http://www.ohio.edu/oit/news/single-sign-on.cfm
