Campus VPN: Windows 10

Already set up? Learn how to connect/disconnect.

First time setup

  1. Download the Windows VPN setup file:
  2. Navigate to the folder where you downloaded the setup file (typically Downloads). Right-click on the file and choose Run as Administrator. If prompted, enter your Windows password.
  3. Select Yes to install Campus VPN.

  4. Select "My use only" and check the box if you would like a shortcut on your desktop.

  5. Enter your full @ohio.edu email address and OHIO password. Then click Connect.
  6. Windows will tell you that it is "Verifying your sign-in info." At this point, you should receive a multi-factor authentication login approval notification on your preferred device.

    • NOTE: Campus VPN does not have a web-based login and defaults to using the Duo Mobile app. You will not see the typical Duo prompt, and you may have to actually open your Duo Mobile app to see and accept the request. If you are not using the Duo mobile app, you may need to Append a Code to your password to complete your login.
  7. To disconnect, select the Network Icon in your taskbar.
  8. Your VPN profile should show as "Connected." Click on its name to toggle the VPN on/off.

How to Connect/Disconnect

To connect

  1. In the system tray area of your taskbar, select the Network icon.
  2. Find the VPN profile you created during first time setup.
  3. Under Advanced, toggle the On button to connect.
  4. Verify your login using multi-factor authentication.
    • NOTE: Campus VPN does not have a web-based login and defaults to using the Duo Mobile app. You will not see the typical Duo prompt, and you may have to actually open your Duo Mobile app to see and accept the request. If you are not using the Duo mobile app, you may need to Append a Code to your password to complete your login.

To disconnect

  1. In the system tray area of your taskbar, select the Network icon.
  2. Find the VPN profile you created during first time setup.
  3. Under Advanced, toggle the On button to disconnect.
