Descendents of John Newton Templeton, a former slave and the first African-American graduate of Ohio University, met the descendents of Templeton's former owners for the first time during last fall's Homecoming Weekend. Ohio Today Assistant Editor Melissa Rake interviewed the families during their historic visit to campus for the dedication of Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium and shares their thoughts about Ohio University and hopes for the future.
