Alumnus Steve Roberts nominated for Daytime Emmy
Ohio University alumnus Steve Roberts has been nominated for a Daytime Entertainment Emmy Award for his work as creative director with "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
The award will be presented on Aug. 29 and telecast Aug. 30 at 8 p.m. (ET) on the CW Television Network from the historic Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.
Roberts and six colleagues were nominated for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in the category of Outstanding Promotional Announcement - Episodic. Other nominations in this category went to "Dr. Phil" (syndicated), "All My Children" (ABC), and the "2008 Video Music Awards Host Campaign" (MTV).
In 1988, Roberts earned a bachelor's degree in communication (video production) from Ohio University. He went on to work for E Entertainment, BET Action Pay Per View, United Paramount Network (UPN) and Studio City, in addition to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." His work at Studio City included projects for the shows "Roseanne," "3rd Rock from the Sun," "X-Files" and "Spin City," among others.
The Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the 2008 calendar year.
