Alvin Rosser earned his BFA from Ohio University in 1950. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, he returned to Ohio University and graduated in 1953 with an MFA in Painting and Allied Arts. (He also won O.U.'s Emerson Prize in Poetry.) After moving to New York to study with Hans Hofmann, he exhibited in many group shows and New York galleries. His work ranges from portraits, landscapes, and abstract paintings to scupture, including ventriloquist figures. His work is currently represented by The ARTery Gallery in Milford, PA. He resides in Sparta, New Jersey.
