Harvey Breverman earned an MFA from Ohio University in 1960. Since then he has received grants and awards from the Tiffany Foundation, the Netherlands Government, the New York State Council on the Arts (CAPS), the National Endowment for the Arts, and the American Academy/National Institute of Arts and Letters. Breverman has exhibited in New York, Toronto, London, Amsterdam, Oslo, Paris, Bologna, Moscow, Basel, Barcelona, and Crakow. He has had eighty-seven solo exhibitions. His works are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum, the Whitney Museum, The Jewish Museum, the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., The British Museum, London, and the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. He is SUNY Distinguished Professor of Art at the University at Buffalo.
