The Inaugural Rajindar K. Koshal Lecture originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 9 has been postponed.

The lecture was to feature award-winning author and poet Bhanu Kapil.

Kapil, the author of five full-length works of prose/poetry, teaches in the Department of Writing and Poetics at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado.

Kapil’s work is often described as hybrid forms integrating narrative, prose and verse in different combinations. Her publications include “The Vertical Interrogation of Strangers,” “Incubation: a space for monsters,” “humanimal [a project for future children],” “Schizophrene,” and “Ban en Banlieue.”

Born in England in 1968 to Indian parents, Kapil earned a BA from England’s Loughborough University and an MA in English literature from SUNY Brockport. In addition to teaching at Naropa University, she also teaches in the low-residency Master's of Fine Arts program at Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont.

The Rajindar K. Koshal Lecture Series was created to bring scholars who have an expertise in Indian culture, economy, history, music, philosophy or politics to Ohio University to speak. The series is named after Professor Emeritus Rajindar Koshal, who first joined Ohio University in 1965 and went on to serve as a highly-regarded Professor of Economics.
