Residence halls to remain open over Spring Break; dining venues to be closed

As Ohio University’s Spring Break, scheduled for March 12-16, approaches, students are reminded that all of the University’s residence halls will remain open during this period.

Having observed an increase in Bobcats either wishing to remain on campus during Spring Break or returning to campus early during the break period, OHIO’s Department of Housing and Residence Life decided last year to keep all of its residence halls open. That change in business operations continues this year.

There will be no additional fees for students remaining on campus over Spring Break or returning to campus early, but students who intend to be on campus at any point during the break were asked to inform Housing and Residence Life via a text prompt from Housing and Residence Life.

Students who will be on campus are also encouraged to continue to monitor their OHIO email accounts during the break period as some work within the residential facilities may occur over the break and will be shared with students via those accounts.

All of the dining venues operated by OHIO’s Culinary Services will be closed over Spring Break. The Front Room Coffeehouse in Baker University Center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, March 12, through Friday, March 16; closed on Saturday, March 17; and open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 18. The Steam Station at the West Union Street Office Center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, March 12, through Friday, March 16. Both the Steam Station and The Front Room will have Fresh Take and Bakery items available for purchase.
