COVID Operations Office transition

Dr. Gillian Ice and the COVID Operations Team have been instrumental in Ohio University’s successful response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through their diligence, we have achieved an overall vaccination rate of 89 percent across all campuses, and we continue to see very low case counts University-wide.

“I want to thank Dr. Gillian Ice for her leadership and our entire COVID Operations team for their outstanding work. All of the members of the COVID Operations team have worked long hours under challenging conditions and they have excelled,” President Hugh Sherman said. “Their efforts have had a tremendous impact on our campuses and in our communities.”

COVID Operations was established through the use of Federal CARES Act funding, which was available during the peak months of the pandemic. Ohio University will continue to prioritize public health on our campuses, but the need for a concerted response has dwindled now that we have returned to normal life. As such, we will be discontinuing the COVID Operations Office at the end of this fiscal year.

The University will continue to provide tools and resources to navigate COVID-19 online at www.ohio.edu/coronavirus
