Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Research Endowments: Endowed Chairs, Professorships and Fellowships
The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (Heritage College) in partnership with the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation (OHF) has established a tiered endowment structure that provides faculty, at any stage in their research career, support for professional growth and success in collaborative research. Each tier acknowledges the value of faculty members who have attained various levels of research experience contributing to the college’s strategic aims of advancing collaborative research and training, and allows for the possibility of advancement through the series of available tiers.
Research Publication Support
The Research Publications Support Program, funded by the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Office of Research and Grants (ORG), assists Heritage College faculty and staff to disseminate their research through the publication of scholarly work. This program covers, in part, funds for the publication fee of manuscripts that have been accepted for publication in accredited journals (i.e. indexed in PubMed, BIOSIS or comparable databases).
Research and Scholarly Awards Committee (RSAC)
RSAC provides research support to the Heritage College faculty to enhance research activity and to increase competitiveness for funding from external grant agencies. Proposals are reviewed by standing RSAC committee members and ad-hoc intramural content experts. The committee works closely with the Office of Research and Grants to stimulate research activity by our faculty.
Research and Scholarly Advancement Fellowship (RSAF)
RSAF is a summer fellowship program that provides an introduction to scholarly work for osteopathic medical students working together with a member of the Heritage College faculty or our affiliates. All Heritage College faculty members and our affiliates are eligible to serve as mentors.
Information regarding research seminars occuring throughout the Heritage College and Ohio University is available on the Research Seminars page. Additionally, Heritage College faculty, staff and students are encouraged to nominate speakers for the Office of Research and Grants Seminar Series.
Training for Human Subject Protection
Each research team member, including students, must complete human subject protection training. A faculty or staff member who has HIPAA training or prior research experience is still required to complete the human subject protection training.
