Ohio Osteopathic Symposium 

The Ohio Osteopathic Symposium is an annual continuing medical education program for physicians. The program is a collaboration of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Ohio Osteopathic Association.  This is a 3-4 day program that usually offers approximately offers 32 hours of 1A credit with an array of CME sessions on topics that typically include dermatology, diabetes, and many other health topics.  This program has become very well known to physicians in Ohio.  The overall attendance at last year's Ohio Osteopathic Symposium was about 810 people.

                The focus of this course will be to incorporate osteopathic principles and osteopathic manipulation into                    the treatment plan for common conditions encountered in sports medicine for patients of all ages.                           Osteopathic Manipulation Treatment for each of the conditions covered in the presentations will be                         preceded by a discussion of the anatomy associated with the technique and the pathophysiology for                         each condition. The course is appropriate for DOs and MDs with osteopathic training.  Emphasis will be                   given to incorporating common osteopathic techniques into a busy primary care or sports medicine                           practice.
