Childhood Immunization Program

Protecting children against preventable diseases

The Childhood Immunization Program (CHIP) helps keep children in our region healthy by giving them immunizations (shots) to protect against preventable diseases such as polio, rubella, and pertussis (whooping cough). Children ages birth to 19 can receive free immunizations if eligible.

If your child needs immunized, please remember to bring his or her immunization records to the clinic.  We can also help with kindergarten and junior high requirements.

CHIP offers a weekly immunization clinic on Thursdays from 2:30- 5:30 pm at the Heritage Community Clinic in Athens and travels to Pike, Scioto, Muskingum and Coshocton counties on a regular basis.
