Our Mission

We are an organization of medical students dedicated to promoting active citizenship in future physicians in order to better serve and support all patients through awareness, education, and advocacy.

Services Provided

Our organization will bring awareness to, educate on, and advocate for issues that our communities and patients face every day including, but not limited to:
   
   • Education system
   • Food security
   • Food sovereignty and food justice 
   • LGBTQA rights 
   • Mental health advocacy
   • Foster care system/child services 
   • Language barriers
   • Immigration/xenophobia/Islamophobia
   • Incarceration/recent release "The New Jim Crow"
   • Refugees 
   • Addiction and substance abuse 
   • Houseless-ness/affordable housing 
   • Health care 
   • Sex trafficking 
   • Sustainability 
   • Gender equity/feminism 
   • Racial equity/justice 

Tentative Schedule for 2023-2024

   Some events we are considering for the upcoming year include the following:
   
   Autumn: Welcome Social, Community Health Hackathon, Veteran’s Day and Addiction Medicine Panels, PawPaw Festival, Habitat for Humanity Build


   Spring: Valentine’s Day Bake Sale for GoodWorks, Rising Suns Non-Profit Pharmacy Info Session, Fundraiser Game Night, Gardening with Community Food Initiatives
   
   Any necessary financing for these events will be provided by organization savings and funds raised by dues to be collected at the beginning of the academic year.
