Who we are

Welcome

Support of academic technology at Heritage College is a team effort between the Heritage College Office of Information and Learning Technologies (OILT) and the Ohio University OIT.

The OILT team supports faculty, staff and students in the use of the primary learning management systems as well as numerous other educational software packages. We also support students and faculty in the use of classroom technologies, including the lecture capture and audience response systems.

In addition to walk-up support, our virtual help desk provides answers to the common issues, helpful resources, and contact information. We are here to help with your educational technology needs.

Classroom Technology

Heritage College lecture halls, labs, and small group rooms are outfitted with projectors or plasma televisions, document cameras, and DVD players. Lecture hall activities, clinical skills, and OMM labs are captured with synchronized video, audio, and PowerPoint. Simulated patient encounters are also recorded to facilitate review by students and assessment by faculty. Live polling (via personal devices) is supported within the lecture halls, enabling faculty to better engage students and measure overall comprehension.

Specialized lecture and lab technologies such as heart sound simulators, virtual microscopy, and SimMan patient simulators are increasingly being utilized within the curriculum.
